If this breach follows the pattern of other health IT breaches as of late, then this type of intrusion at CareFirst wouldn’t be considered particularly difficult for an advanced team of malicious actors. The main objective would be to steal a set or multiple sets of user credentials. A juicy target would be an administrator or super user with high levels of access. This could be done using malware from a spear phishing attack or a watering hole attack. The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) just released its new cybersecurity strategy report for 2015. This strategy sets five strategic goals: 1.
