Clarkson eats humble pie

Arrogant motoring journalist Jeremy Clarkson, star of Top Gear, pooh-poo'd the potential for identity theft after millions of British benefit claimants' personal details were lost recently on two CDs. He claimed personal information is freely available when people write cheques etc. and even published his own bank details in a newspaper to push the point home. Well, someone evidently took up the challenge and committed Clarkson to a Direct Debit payment of £500 to a charity.
