President Obama announced his appointment of Vivek Kundra as the newly created Federal CIO position during a news conference March 5. According to FCW:
Kundra said he plans to build on innovations from the previous administration but wants to move beyond e-government. As federal CIO, he will be focused on operations and effectively spending the $71 billion federal IT budget."
I am curious to think what this appointment will mean to the other agencies and their associated infrastructure reporting. It will also be interesting to see if this will have any impact on the security and infrastructure budgets of the various agencies.
