The (ISC)² Bangalore Chapter conducted its 7th Security Meet on 17th March, 2018 at Honeywell Technology Solutions. The event offered its fellow security professionals an opportunity to hear from and discuss with security experts from various industries. The chapter has picked up pace and matured with respect to its steadily growing membership count in quality and quantity. Currently at the count of 73 members and counting, this chapter promises to sincerely promote its purpose and vision of building a strong network of security professionals.
The half day event featured three major keynote presentations along with its Annual Board Member Election. Presentations began with an eye opener on the widely known but lesser understood “Blockchain” concept by Nitin Dhavate from Infosys Technologies. Vishal Jaitak from GE Digital kept the audience involved by getting into aspects of securing industrial assets in the digital world. Suhas Shivanna from Hewlett Packard Enterprise spoke at length on emerging security trends and technology in the field of hardware security. The variety of advanced security topics and presence of experts during Q&A sessions brought several dimensions to the topics at hand.
The Annual Board Member Election saw a change of guard for all positions. The outgoing President of the Bangalore Chapter Ajit Mathew
handed over the reins to Pravin Goyal. Ajit Mathew was recognized for his guidance and contribution in the initial struggle to set up the chapter. The new officers on the board look forward to serving the community and contribute towards the efforts in building a secure environment.
